(2020-08-14) The 74th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated at the Embassy of Pakistan in the Republic of Korea on Friday. In view of the COVID 19 epidemic and the social distancing guidelines, the event was attended only by the Embassy officials.
The event began with the raising of national flag by the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea to the tune of the national anthem. Remarks of the President of Pakistan and Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read at the occasion.
In their messages, President and the Prime Minister congratulated the entire nation on the auspicious occasion of 74th National Independence Day. While paying tribute to those who laid their lives while defending and protecting the motherland, they urged the nation to remain steadfast and follow “Unity, Faith and Discipline”. They also highlighted the sufferings of Kashmiris in IIOJK and prayed for their freedom from Indian oppression.
Ambassador of Pakistan, Ms. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch congratulated the Pakistani community in the Republic of Korea on this occasion and underlined the importance of celebrating the Independence Day as it marked the creation of a homeland where we can live with freedom and dignity. She urged the participants not to forget our Kashmiri brethren in IIOJK who have been subjected to harsh brutalities by Indian security forces for the last three decades.
