Pakistan has joined the Global Green Growth Institute. The Instrument of Accession to the Agreement on the Establishment of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) signed by the Foreign Minister of Pakistan was deposited by Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea Ms. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch at a ceremony at the GGGI headquarters in Seoul. Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute Mr. Frank Rijsberman accepted the Instrument of Accession by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. Pakistan’s membership will take effect on 11 November 2021.
Pakistan’s membership of GGGI is a reflection of its strong and unwavering commitment to enhanced climate action as pronounced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan at various occasions. Pakistan will partner with GGGI in its transition towards a green economy.
