Embassy of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea organized a Rally for Kashmir to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day. A wide cross-section of Pakistani and Korean participants attended the Rally.
It was an occasion to celebrate people of Kashmir speeches, poetry, music and stories. Speakers expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and voiced support for the right to self determination of the people of Kashmir in accordance with resolutions of the UN Security Council. Korean speakers drew parallels with Korean experience of colonialism and affirmed their support for the rights of the Kashmiri people.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that yearning for dignity, human rights and liberty is a universal sentiment. Those who enjoy these freedoms have an obligation to unite in solidarity with those who continue to suffer.
Speaking about the human rights violations of the people of IIOJK, Ambassador said these atrocities and humiliation have not deterred Kashmiris from their desire for freedom and human rights. She said Pakistan will always stand with the people of Kashmir and expressed the hope that with a painful history of colonialism, the Korean people will understand the pain of Kashmiris and support their dream of a life of dignity, liberty and human rights.
The Rally held online in view of the the COVID19 related social distancing guidelines of the Government of the Republic of Korea.
