The Embassy of Pakistan would like to once again remind of a few matters related to the Machine Readable Passport (MRP) facility:-
- MRP facility commenced on the 7th of December, 2015.
- It is available by appointment ONLY. Appointment can be made through the Embassy of Pakistan, Seoul’s website www.pkembassy.or.kr
- A valid NICOP or CNIC is an essential requirement for the procession of the MRP. No MRP application can be processed by the system in the absence of a valid NICOP or CNIC. Community members not having valid NICOP or CNIC are required to immediately apply for NICOP at NADRA’s website www.id.nadra.gov.pk
- Processing time for MRP (from application to delivery of Passport) takes approximately 30 days. All applicants are encouraged to apply for the MRP facility at-least 4 to 5 months before the expiry of their existing passports so as to avoid any inconvenience.
- Only MRP Passports are now being issued. Issuance of Manual Passports has been completely discontinued.
