The EXPO Pakistan is one of the main International Trade fair held in Pakistan under the auspicious of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Recently the tenth edition of EXPO Pakistan was held from 9th to 12th of November 2017 at EXPO Center Karachi.
The event was inaugurated jointly by Mr. Pervaiz Malik, Federal Minister for Commerce, Mr. Khurshid Shah, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Mr. Muhammad Zubair, Governor Sindh and Mr. Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh. Later, the Dignitaries took a round of the Expo and met with exhibitors.
The event was attended by 800 delegates from 85 countries including 13 delegates from South Korea who represented various large and medium sized Korean companies. The delegates met with buyers from different sectors and held B2B meetings with exhibitors and manufacturers of Textile Yarn, Fabric, Home textiles and Ready made garments. They also held meetings with the manufacturers from Leather, Sports goods, processed food, Minerals & Marble sectors.
This year exhibition was adorned by Pakistan’s leading brands like Chen One, Sitara Textile, AHAN, State Life Insurance, ARY Jewellers, PASDEC, Pakistan Software Export Board, Big Bird, JETRO, Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturer Association etc. and top designers like Amna Aqeel, Amir Adnan, Deepak Perwani, Funk Asia by Huma Adnan, Gogi by Hassan Riaz, Gulabo by Maheen Khan, The Pink tree by Mohsin Saeed, Jaffer Jees, also showcased their Couture.
The sources from business circles reported an estimated Business to Business trade deals of around US Dollars one billion. During the event the brand “Emerging Pakistan” was launched jointly by the Ministry of Commerce and TDAP, largely attended by foreign dignitaries, diplomats and member of Pakistani business community.
On sidelines, several events were held including three day fashion show to introduce autumn winter collection by different Pakistani designers, which was held at Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi. The event was followed by Trade envoys conference on 12th of November 2017.
